Sleepless in Singapore: Financial Concerns Keep Singapore Awake, while Overall Well-Being in APAC Lags Behind Global Peers
![]()
What is the health of Singapore residents in 2025, and how do we compare across the region?
Our latest Cigna Healthcare International Health Study 2025 found that while overall-being and vitality levels for Singapore respondents have remained consistent as last year, concerns around finances seem to be a source of stress for many.
Eight in 10 of Singapore respondents are stressed, with their greatest stressors being the current cost of living, uncertainty around the future, and personal finance. The result of this: 47% share they’ve experienced disrupted sleep, due to stress, which affects their physical and mental health.
Singapore respondents also continue to prioritize physical, mental, and financial well-being. For example: more than a quarter of Singapore respondents share they have good exercise habits.
This is similar to what we see across the Asia Pacific region: Physical, mental and financial well-being are most important for respondents across APAC. Yet, financial well-being remains the weakest aspect of well-being across the globe.
Additionally, overall well-being in APAC lags behind the global average, with less than three in 10 APAC respondents rating their overall well-being as “excellent” or “very good”, compared to four in 10 globally.
Overall, our study shows the intricate link between all aspects of our health, demonstrating the importance of a holistic approach to health and well-being.
