Health Benefits Boost Workplace Productivity in 2024

Cigna Healthcare International Health Study – HR & Benefits Managers (2024)

With health becoming more of a priority in the recent years, it’s more important than ever that companies support their employees’ health and wellness. According to our recent research, health and well-being benefits are one of the most common Employee Value Propositions (EVP) in Singapore, offered by 89% of employers.

In our latest Cigna Healthcare International Health Study, Harnessing Health – Measuring the Impact of Employee Health and Well-being Benefits [PDF], we surveyed 1,000 managers and directors in Human Resources globally, including 200 in Singapore, to understand the impact of health and well-being benefits on workforces.

  • Six in 10 HR leaders say health and well-being benefits help shorten working hours, and reduce sick days and absenteeism
  • In Singapore, health and well-being benefits are the second most impactful employee value proposition in attracting and retaining talent, after career progression
  • However, two-thirds say the benefits offered are underutilised by employees; and cost considerations were a commonly cited deterrence for richer offerings

"To attract and retain top talent, employers need to offer a holistic set of employee value propositions that addresses everyone’s needs and aspirations where they are at."
