Employer Branding Plays A Vital Role In Attracting Talent

Scroll to read

A recent survey that examined the growing talent war across Africa yielded one interesting conclusion: your company’s brand is the most important factor in attracting and retaining employees.

Results showed that strength of the employer brand is the most important factor for attracting talent (75%). When it comes to retention, the quality of the workplace and the overall experience ranked as the leading retention factor.

Tangible benefits are still important.

For attracting talent, competitive base pay (62%), job security (61%), opportunities for advancement (61%) and employee benefits (60%) still rank very highly. So while employees are still focused on these, there is a shift to the overall satisfaction. The reason for this may have to do with a more competitive job market. Employees have more choices—and they want their employers to offer “the complete package”.

When thinking of your company’s brand, think holistically.

What shapes how employees perceive your company? A number of factors—most of which are in your control.  Be sure the following are an important part of the employee experience you offer:

  • Opportunities for advancement
  • Competitive pay

  • Strong benefits packages
